For the first year in a very long time, the Academy of Arts took 6 groups of students to competition at the BJU Festival in Greenville, SC. Three were group acting scenes who performed cuttings from 12 Angry Men, The Miracle Worker, and The Lions of Trondheim. We also had 3 young people perform individual cuttings of The Last Leaf, Les Miserables, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
After two days of intense competition, The Academy of Arts took first place in both categories with 12 Angry Men and Les Miserables! We were blessed to also place second in each of these categories with The Miracle Worker and The Last Leaf. Congratulations to the young people who participated! We look forward to next years festival and praise God for the opportunity to use these gifts for Him on a daily basis with the Academy of Arts Ministries!

Visit Rodehavor Auditorium tonight at 7pm as Molly Horrocks performs her winning piece, Les Miserables! For more information about how to be involved with speech and voice lessons at The Academy of Arts, visit our website at http://www.theacademyofarts.org/classes---lessons.html

Thank you Academy of Arts, especially Nicole, Mary Beth, Rachel B., and Olivia for your hard work in training the teens and working it out for them to compete. I know Jeremy had a wonderful time and learned so much through this experience. Most of all, thank you for teaching them to exalt the LORD first and foremost.
